Thereโs no doubt about it that the I.T field is a great field to work in. The masses of knowledge you gain from working in different companies mean your skills actually become transferrable to a whole lot of other industries too.
One of the most simple way to demonstrate what a smart home is to non-techies is to show them you switching your bedroom light on by using your voice.

GDPR - Was it a waste of time?

Itโs been just over a year since the European General Data Protection Rules (GDPR) came into place and I feel like I have mixed feelings for the
Back last year youโll probably remember seeing absolutely dozens of emails

Pretty much every site I visit gives me a plethora of cookie notice pop ups. This isnโt just annoying but also a waste of mobile data for mobile visitors as additional cookie libraries and asset files.
Personally, I believe this is a feature that should be added to popular web browsers and as a meta tag to the <head> sections of websites, just like fav icons work. Maybe I should submit an RFC for this. Assuming nobody else has ever though if the idea before.

Using git as a backup solution is a really bad idea.

Way too often I hear of newbie developers losing their work due to using git as their primary backup solution for their project.
So what exactly is git then?
Git is a version control system and this should be its only purpose. You should be using Git to keep track of changes to your files, not to restore back to them in future.
