Downloading Google Chrome for a remote machine without internet access


You may have hit a situation where you need to install Google Chrome on a machine without internet access. This is particularly the case when Iā€™m at work as I have to manage Windows servers that are behind a strict firewall without external internet access.

My usual approach for automating the installation of software on Windows Operating Systems is to install chocolately and run a remote script to execute a powershell shell to install Google Chrome via Chocolately.

I was surprised that it took me around 10 minutes to find a trusted source using Google, so I have decided to write a blog post on this
